Responding to a Weak 4 Opening ( 4 ♥ or 4 ♠ )

This is generally a close-out bid. The opener has an 8+card suit and 9-11 HCPs. For bidding purposes, assume the opener has 10 HCPs.
• If the responder has less than 23 points, the responder should PASS.
• If the responder has 23 points or more, the responder should bid 4 NT Blackwood (asking for Aces) to explore slam.
